Paintings and Frames Restoration and Conservation.

Caring for paintings can be complex and delicate task. When painting ages, the look of the image changes sometimes because of dirt, dust, smoke or house grim. But the image changes also because of the materials it was made of changing as well, pigments changing their properties and of course color changes. You can see discoloration, brown instead of green or blue, some paints become translucent or transparent, etc.

Removing dirt, or yellowed varnish, or other obscuring materials will require a great deal of skills, knowledge and expertise  because unskilled hands will damage painting irreversibly, permanently affecting aesthetic and monetary value of work.

We offer a full range of services in conservation and restoration of paintings.  We start with full exam of the exact condition of the painting and frame if necessary. If necessary we employ ultraviolet, infrared photograph, radiology, computer aided image processing, etc.

After analyzing the condition and options for restoration we explain that to our clients to make them aware of the alternatives if any. Our projects are fully documented and photographed before, during and after restoration.
